Outside Events Schedule for Spring 2018

1. Connecticut College Events (Must Attend One Connecticut College Event)

Faculty Showcase: 

Fri. February 2 - 7:30 PM  – Evans Hall, Connecticut College, $5 student ticketThe program includes music of late Romantic and early 20th century composers – vocal and instrumental. Transportation is the responsibility of the student.


Faculty Recital: Brahms Evening 

Fri. Apr. 13 – 7:30 PM – Evans Hall, Connecticut College, $5 student ticketSelections include vocal and instrumental pieces.  Transportation is the responsibility of the student.

2. The Eastern Connecticut Symphony Orchestra Performance

Sat. Feb. 24 - 7 PM - Garde Arts Center, New London.  The program includes Ravel, Tchaikovsky and Mussorgsky.  Admission cost will be covered through the Department FOR THIS CLASS EVENT ONLY.  Transportation is the responsibility of the student. 

3. Lyman Allyn Museum (Class trip - Meet at the Museum)

Wed. Feb. 28. – 10:00AM – 625 Williams Street, New London, CT 06320.   The class will explore the museum collections.  Special focus will be on 19th century art.Transportation is the responsibility of the student.  

Note: If for any reason you cannot attend an event, you must notify me as soon as possible for another assignment.

Reflection Paper

Students must submit a 2 page reflection paper on each event attended.

  1. Identify the venue & artist(s).
  2. Describe the event/program including historical background & present day.
  3. Describe your reaction to the event/program.

Describe how the event reflects what you are learning in class.
