Web 2.0 and Social Media

What is RSS?

Websites change on a regular basis. How can you keep up with the latest news and information?

RSS (Really Simple Sindication) provides you with alerts each time changes are made.  For example, if a news website posts a new story, it will show up in the site's RSS feed.  You can subscribe to that RSS feed and receive alerts each time new stories are posted.

RSS Aggregators

Most web browsers have RSS feed "aggregators" or places to organize lots of RSS feeds in one place.  Try one of the tools below to see how RSS feeds work.

Tip!

If you've discovered a variety of blogs that you like to follow, try using an RSS aggregator.  Instead of visiting each individual blog to check for new posts, you can simply check one location for all the latest information.
