We look forward to the adventure ahead as our first year students explore, dissect, challenge and engage with the this year's choice. A 2014 National Book Award Finalist, Citizen: An American Lyric was chosen as one of the best books of the year by numerous publications including The New Yorker, Boston Globe, The Atlantic, BuzzFeed, NPR. Los Angeles Times, Publishers Weekly and Slate. All members of the Mitchell community are encouraged to read along and join the conversations that we hope will arise from classrooms to cafeteria around the important topics exposed through this innovative perspective.
