The Mitchell Estate

Alfred Mitchell and his wife, Annie Olivia Tiffany Mitchell, purchased property in New London, Connecticut in 1880 to enjoy as the family's summer residence with their two daughters, Alfreda and Charly.  Several of the property's original buildings remain today including Mitchell Hall (then known as Sunflower Lodge), Umbrella House, and the mailroom (then known as The Arc).

About the Archives

The College Archives preserves the history of Mitchell College (established in 1938 as New London Junior College) through photographs, records, personal papers, college publications, and all manner of artifacts.
