The Mitchell College Library is dedicated to ensuring access to services, collections, and spaces for all of our library users. Access to Library Spaces

The library is a brick building located on the southeast corner of the main campus.

To help plan your next visit, please be aware that the library offers:

  • Accessible parking next to the library
  • Wheelchair accessibility to the library's upper level
  • Automatic doors at the main entrance
  • Information desk, course reserves, and instruction space on the upper level
  • Wheelchair-accessible restrooms on the upper level
  • Book stacks on the lower level. Please ask library staff for assistance if needed
  • Color copier/printing on the upper level
  • Desktop computers on the upper level

Institutional Membership to the Connecticut Library for Accessible Books (CTLAB)
CT LAB provides free lending services of books and magazines in audio and braille formats to residents of Connecticut who are unable to read standard printed materials due to visual, reading, or physical disabilities.

Library Databases - WCAG Ratings

WCAG stands for Web Content Accessibility Guidelines. It is a set of internationally recognized guidelines developed by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) to ensure that websites and digital content are accessible to people with disabilities.

WCAG 2.2 is the current standard. WCAG ratings are A, AA and AAA. The AAA rating is the highest level of accessibility compliance. Achieving Level AA compliance is considered a good practice,
