According to the Mitchell College Faculty Handbook 2023 , "any materials written, created, produced, or otherwise generated by a member of the faculty are the exclusive property of that faculty member" (28). This means that you, as the creator, retain sole ownership and control over these materials, unless they were created "for hire." This policy also applies to materials added to your Moodle course page. As the owner of your intellectual property, you have the right to set permissions or parameters for how others can view, copy, or use your work. You can choose to share your materials widely, restrict access, or even refuse permission for others to view or use your property. This ensures that you maintain control over your intellectual contributions and how they are utilized. If you have any questions or need assistance with setting permissions, feel free to reach out to the Mitchell College library staff for support.
Creative Commons (CC) licenses are tools that allow creators to share their work with others while still retaining some control over how it's used. These licenses make it easier for educators and students to share and use creative works legally and ethically.
