Outside Events Schedule for Fall 2019

1. The Eastern Connecticut Symphony Orchestra Performance

Sat. Oct. 26  - 7 PM - Garde Arts Center, New London.  The program includes Fuchs, Tchaikovsky and Dvorak Admission cost will be covered through the Department FOR THIS CLASS EVENT ONLY.  Transportation is the responsibility of the student. 

2. Flock Theatre

Thurs. Oct. 31 - Sun. Nov. 3 -   7PM - Mitchell College Campus. Performance of Shakespeare's MacBeth. Student must pay admission cost.

3. Lyman Allyn Museum (Class trip - Meet at the Museum)

Thurs. Oct 31 –  625 Williams Street, New London, CT 06320.   The class will explore the museum collections.  Special focus will be on 19th century art.Transportation is the responsibility of the student.

4. Mystic Seaport J.M.W. Turner Exhibit (1775 -1851)

Thurs. Nov. 14 - The only North American venue for J.M.W. Turner: Watercolors from Tate. The exhibit is an exclusive from Tate, London. 

 

Note: If for any reason you cannot attend an event, you must notify me as soon as possible for another assignment.

Reflection Paper

Students must submit a 2 page reflection paper on each event attended.

  1. Identify the venue & artist(s).
  2. Describe the event/program including historical background & present day.
  3. Describe your reaction to the event/program.

Describe how the event reflects what you are learning in class.
