Types of Digital Content & Courseware

Digital content is highly variable and access is specific to the publisher and the textbook. Contact your publisher for more information.

Plan ahead with both the publisher and the Follett adoption process. If the incorrect format or edition is adopted in Follett, this can be modified but takes some time. Contact us if you need assistance.

Free with Textbook
Many publishers offer free supplemental instructor content and/or student content. Registering for a publisher site account is typically required. You may be asked to verify your status as an instructor or student, either by providing a Mitchell email address or a photo of your college ID card.
Paid with Textbook
Publishers sometimes charge students an additional fee to access digital content associated with a textbook. If this content can be integrated with our LMS, it is often referred to as courseware.
Digital-only content
Some publisher resources are digital-only and require students to purchase a digital access code to use it. Digital-only resources can be available through a publisher website or as an integrated courseware tool within Moodle.

Moodle Integration

Just like digital content, Moodle integration takes many forms. Several examples are provided below. Contact us for assistance.

Moodle External Tool
The External Tool option in Moodle enables a complete integration between Moodle and the publisher's content platform. Contact the publisher first to find out if this option is available. To request setup, send courseware documentation to the Moodle administrator.
Publisher-hosted Content
Some publishers do not fully integrate with Moodle but do offer digital content that can be curated by the instructor and accessed by students on the publisher's web platform. Access information must be provided by the publisher.
Question Banks & Slide Decks
Publishers not offering External Tool integration often provide Moodle-compatible question banks (these can be imported for building quizzes) and customizable slide decks (these can be uploaded to Moodle as files).
