Reopening 2020

library reopening

Mitchell College Library Reopening has been developed in coordination with the College's overall reopening plan.

The health and safety of our entire Mariner community is our guiding principle.

Building Access

The library is now open without an appointment, masks required.  Building capacity will be limited to ensure appropriate social distancing; priority will be given to academic work.  View Library Hours.

Curbside Pickup

If a quick pickup is preferred, email us ( to request books, videos, equipment, or FollowMe prints.  Once confirmed, select a pickup time through our easy online calendar.

Online Photo ID Process

New and replacement IDs must now be requested through our online form.  Please review photo requirements carefully to ensure the quickest turnaround time.  Full details here.

One-on-One Support

Available via Zoom, phone, email, or chat on the library's website (no in-person appointments at this time).  Students make appointments through Starfish, faculty/staff pick a time through Calendly.

Expanded Online Support

New guides for Remote Teaching Support and Remote Learning Support.  Video tutorials on the library's YouTube Channel.

Hand Sanitizer and Disinfecting Wipes

Available throughout the library.  Routine sanitizing procedures will be followed as required by the College's reopening plan.

Quarantine Time Between Loans

For all books, videos, equipment, and other materials. This may delay availability of some items, but will ensure continued access for all.

All other library services will be maintained

This includes course reserves, interlibrary loan and delivery, instruction sessions (via Zoom), and staff support - contact us with any questions you have and we will find a way to get it done!

Library contacts: email us at, call us at 860-701-5156, or chat with us on the library's website

Plan Your Visit

When visiting the library:

  1. Submit a negative COVID test to CoVerified or before arriving on campus
  2. Wear a mask and wash your hands
  3. Observe social distancing requirements; priority will be given to those conducting academic work.
