EL212: Children's Literature

Contemporary Realistic Fiction depicts:

• A modern time period, showing culture and society as we know it today.
• Real-life situations; stories based on events that are likely to happen in everyday life.
• Humans as the main characters (or animals, if they are depicted in a realistic way).

Note that while these stories are realistic, the illustrations do not have to be - they are often artful and creative.
