Kanopy Access Now Mediated

Kanopy logo

To more efficiently manage the cost of supporting Kanopy, the streaming video service, Mitchell College Library is switching to the mediated access model.  Many academic libraries have made this decision in order to continue providing access to rich video content in a more sustainable way.

What does this mean for you?

  1. Titles already licensed through Kanopy will remain available for the purchased term.
  2. The entire Kanopy catalog will now be available for browsing.
  3. Access to additional Kanopy titles can be requested by faculty and will be fulfilled as budget allows.  Priority will be given to DVD format except where Kanopy pricing is comparable or course content is being delivered remotely.
  4. Approved titles will become available after purchase - planning at least 1 week ahead is advised.

What other streaming options do I have?

View all streaming options on our Books & Videos page including the *new* Feature Films for Education collection.  Films on Demand and the Alexander Street academic video collections will also continue to be offered.
