Translating one’s ideals and passions into action requires not only effective communication, but social interaction skills. Often the program or initiative that is developed by one who is exhibiting social activism requires collaborating and working with others who share the same interest. Social interaction is imperative to being a social activist and creating a social movement. All introductory courses could ask first year students to form groups and work collaboratively to identify a current topic, establish a shared position, and create a team program that would effectively address the chosen topic. The group’s process of working together as well as their final outcome, a group presentation, all support the Ability of Social Interaction.
