Tips for Staying Safe!

New London is a great little city, with lots to offer; but it's always better to be safe than sorry, so keep the following in mind during your local trips off-campus:

  • Try to travel with at least one other person;
  • Even if you are not traveling alone, always let at least one other person know where you are going, with whom, and when you expect to be back;
  • Always keep a watchful eye, be aware of your surroundings, and take ownership of your own safety;
  • Make sure your cell phone is charged, and keep it within easy access;
  • Add the Campus Safety number to your cell phone contacts listing: 860.443.0214;
  • Consider attaching a personal alarm to your keychain, to sound if you are being followed, or if otherwise you feel threatened.
